SCHEDULE: Part-time

POSITION SUMMARY :

The Registered Nurse asa Charge Nurse in Surgical Services is responsible for the provision of patientcare based upon the nursing process and in compliance with hospital policies,protocols and procedures. Maintainscurrent competency with the nursing skills required for assignedunit/department. Demonstrates knowledgeregarding Standards of Care and Standards of Practice in the areaassigned. Demonstrates knowledge andskills to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care. Maintains professional and effective workingrelationships with all members of the health care team. Demonstrates knowledge of principles ofgrowth and development over life span and possesses ability to assess datareflective of patient status and interpret appropriate information needed toidentify patient requirements relative to his/her age specific needs. Maintains calmness in a crisis situation anddirects staff members appropriately. Completes a competency skills checklist within 3 months of employment.


Qualifications

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS :

Minimum of 3 years RNexperience.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Graduate from a schoolof nursing

LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:

Current license topractice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Nevada required. Current BasicCardiac Life Support required

ACLS certificationrequired

TESTING:

Pass medication testwith score of 80%.
